Lessons were first held at Mr Bhikhubhai Dudhia's house in Blacktorn, the school then moved to Lings Upper School, which is now Northampton Academy. All the teachers were volunteers; Maganbhai Patel, Bhikhubhai Dudhia, both no longer with us, Sureshbhai Samani and Chhotubhai Mistry. When Northamptonshire County Council Education Services started paying wages, the school employed various teachers to help students to get education up to GCSC, 'O'and 'A' level. The next head teacher was Sureshbhai Samani, followed by Puspalata Shah and Mohiniben Vithlani. Teaching topics that lead to GCSE levels; family, health, culture, sports, travel, alphabet, numbers, stories, holidays, home, local area, education and work, leisure and entertainment. |
