In our quest to apply for a 4 year funding plan, Louise, Ute and I went to Leicester and Sheffield to see how they organise and run supplementary schools. We learnt a lot on both days and can use our findings in the new application.
We would like to thank Hannah Starkey for all her efforts during her time at the ANSS. She has achieved an awful lot in almost two years and was very much appreciated not only by Woodnewton mainstream school staff but also by staff from the ANSS and the supplementary schools that are based at Woodnewton. We wish her well in her new exciting job in mainstream education. Alaa Abouzanad, Chair

Very exciting news from me as well! Anna Pawluk-Ponicka from the Polish school Wellingborough and I have been on the NRCSE (National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education) train-the-trainer course in London. 3 days of training was not easy but very enjoyable and we are now qualified to teach the Effective Teaching Course for the ANSS.
We will be starting to recruit for the first NRCSE OCN-accredited course in September and will start in October/November. We are both very excited and will prepare the course together during the summer break." Ute Nannini, Development Officer

"I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Somalian and Ukrainian supplementary schools in Northampton to our Association.
The ANSS Award Ceremony took place in December. We not only celebrated the achievements of children and young people but also the achievements of supplementary schools who gained the Bronze Awards within the National Quality Assurance framework. I am delighted that so many schools have achieved this award and would like to congratulate them. I am absolutely certain that the other member schools will be achieving this award shortly." "2014 was a very exciting year for us. 10 schools achieved the National Resource Centre For Supplementary Education Quality Assurance Framework ‘Bronze Award’ and will soon take the journey towards the Silver Award. We offered training courses in First Aid and Safeguarding. We were also in a position to offer 13 places on the NRCSE 30-hour Effective Teaching Course. Well done everybody. The Awards Ceremony was also a great success for our organisation." Ute Nannini, Development Officer
